šŸ›ļø Black Friday and holiday shopping are nearly there... and so are online scams: fake shops, counterfeits, and those ā€˜too-good-to-be-true’ deals. Stay safe with these smart tips and don’t let scammers cash in on your clicks. If you spot illegal content or a suspected scam, report it directly on the platform through the Digital Services Act notice and action mechanism. Under this system, platforms must review your report quickly, tell you what action they take, and explain how you can appeal if you disagree. Shop smart. Stay protected. • šŸš¶ā™€ļøEven though walking is the most eco-friendly mode of transportation, enduring discomfort for long distances is unnecessary.  Because the EU is investing in brilliant solutions to revolutionise sustainable commuting.   One of them is MONOCAB OWL šŸš†šŸ‡©šŸ‡Ŗ.    A gyro-stabilized monorail cabin system providing an individual, autonomous, and ā€œon demandā€ transportation. It's designed to complement public transit by enhancing mobility in less populated areas and making your journey both planet-friendly and convenient.     With nearly 30% of the EU population living in the countryside, this project is an important step in improving rural connectivity.    Have you heard of any other innovative transport solutions backed by the EU?     #WorldSustainableTransportDay     šŸ“øĀ© Monocab Owl

  • Boosting Europe’s competitiveness starts with strong, coordinated action.    Today, we present the 2026 European Semester Autumn Package, setting out priorities to strengthen productivity, innovation, and investment across the EU.    This year’s package charts a path towards competitiveness, confirming the recent economic forecast, which shows that the EU economy remains resilient with moderate growth.    Strengthening competitiveness while maintaining sound public finances is essential to unlock Europe’s growth potential and safeguard stability.    For the first time, the package includes a recommendation on human capital, calling on all EU countries to prioritise education and skills in strategic sectors for the EU economy, and to reverse the negative trend in basic skills.    More info ↓ Press release: link.europa.eu/3TKQrn Q&A: link.europa.eu/8k6FKT Autumn Package: link.europa.eu/tRgQBH

  • Violence against women must end, now!    This nonverbal Signal for Help is a way to discreetly communicate when you need help.     But, of course, a hand sign isn’t enough.    In the EU, we’re working hard to eradicate it, including through:  šŸ”¹ Stronger support and protection for survivors, with more shelters, 24/7 helplines, and easier ways to report abuse safely  šŸ”¹ Awareness and prevention campaigns focusing on consent, early intervention, and empowering bystanders to act safely  šŸ”¹ EU-wide laws that criminalise female genital mutilation, forced marriage, cyber-abuse  šŸ”¹ Binding commitments to prevent violence, protect victims, and hold offenders accountable through the Istanbul Convention    Violence against women is not inevitable. It is preventable.    For a world where women can live free from fear 🧔    Find out more: https://lnkd.in/gK2Sgz2J

  • The next chapter of European tourism is greener, smarter and more inclusive ✨  Our Smart Tourism champions are already showing the way forward.    We have chosen the European Capitals and Green Pioneers of Smart Tourism for 2026:    šŸ‡«šŸ‡® Tampere is setting high standards with a forward-looking approach to sustainable growth, showing how tourism can support local wellbeing while creating long-lasting value for communities.    šŸ‡šŸ‡· Dubrovnik is redefining what responsible tourism looks like, using data, long-term planning and active community involvement to protect its heritage and manage visitor flows sustainably.    We're ensuring that Europe remains not only the world’s leading destination, but also the most responsible.    More: https://lnkd.in/eEZpkH5Q

  • Europe is taking the next step to make sustainable finance simpler and more reliable.    We have proposed simplifying the Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation to give investors clearer sustainability information and to make the system easier for companies to use.    What does this mean for investors and providers?  āœ… Clearer and shorter disclosures that are easy to compare  āœ… Less paperwork for companies  āœ… A clear categorisation to fight greenwashing  āœ… Better conditions for retail investors to participate in EU capital markets    Our goal is simple: a financial system people can trust, and that delivers real sustainability outcomes.    More info: https://lnkd.in/efqf7MJt

    • A blue background with yellow 3D stars arranged in a circle, resembling the EU flag. In the centre, the text reads ā€œInvest where our future belongs.ā€ A 3D euro symbol is placed among the stars. The European Commission logo appears in the bottom right corner.
  • What would your life look like without electricity?  Today in Johannesburg, President von der Leyen announced mobilising ā‚¬15.5 billion to boost renewable energy and bring power to more people across the continent.    60% of the world’s best solar resources are in Africa. šŸŒ  Yet 600 million people still live without reliable electricity.    The ā€˜Scaling up Renewables in Africa’ campaign is a new chapter that will truly light up people’s lives.     Together with our African partners, we are ready to unlock a sustainable energy future for the continent.     #GlobalGateway

  • šŸ“£ Let children be heard!     On World Children's Day we underscore that every child, everywhere, has the same rights — and we are committed to protecting them.    Among these is the right to have their voice heard.     When we listen to children’s views, we gain a better understanding of their experiences, needs, and perspectives. šŸ§’šŸ¼šŸ‘¦šŸ½    We want to hear children’s views on the EU ā¤µļø    That’s why we actively involve them in our decision-making process through the EU Children’s Participation Platform. This initiative, part of the EU Strategy on the Rights of the Child, amplifies young voices and puts child-participation mechanisms into practice.

    • Four children sitting on the ground with backpacks, interacting with each other. One girl is holding a tablet while the others listen or talk. The text at the top reads: ā€˜Children have the right to be heard’. The European Commission logo is shown in the top right corner.
  • Europe leads the world in consumer protection.  And we are making it even stronger.    Consumers drive more than half of the EU’s economy. To keep this working, people need to trust the products they buy and the services they use.    The 2030 Consumer Agenda sets the path for making those choices safer, clearer, and more sustainable in the years ahead.    It focuses on four priorities:    šŸŒ Completing the single market, by removing cross-border obstacles  šŸ’» Digital fairness, tackling manipulative practices such as dark patterns, addictive design features, and unfair personalisation  ā™»ļø Sustainable consumption, preventing greenwashing, improving durability and repairability and strengthening second-hand and circular markets  šŸ›”ļø Stronger enforcement, ensuring unsafe products and unfair practices are tackled effectively    A stronger single market begins with stronger consumer protection.
