  • Through critical partnerships with Martin House Children's Hospice and The Together Project, HARIBO UK has demonstrated a strong commitment to spreading childlike happiness in the places it’s needed most.   Through HARIBO UK’s partnership with Martin House, they’ve collectively raised over a million pounds to support their work to provide first-class hospice care for children and young adults with life limiting conditions and their families.   And through their work with The Together Project, the Songs and Smiles sessions at local care homes are combatting loneliness and encouraging intergenerational friendships through music and play. HARIBO UK Managing Director Jon Hughes recently visited one of the care homes to witness this difference first-hand.   It’s inspiring to see our colleagues’ passion for making a difference in their communities. Their commitment and compassion truly embody what HARIBO is all about.

  • Next up in our Sweet History of HARIBO series, we are celebrating 30 years of production in HARIBO España!   2025 marks 30 years since HARIBO opened its first Spanish factory in Cornellá del Terri, Girona, where there were just 4,000 square metres of space and 30 employees. Having previously only operated a sales office in the country, this move marked a significant commitment to building HARIBO in Spain, and the business has only gone from strength to strength since.   30 years later, HARIBO España employs over 700 people at its Cornellá del Terri factory, where all local production now takes place.   • We are proud of the work our colleagues at HARIBO Italia are doing to spread childlike happiness to their local communities! 🌈 Earlier this month, the Piazza Belloveso was transformed into HARIBO Happyland – a vibrant and colourful new playground for all to enjoy! This transformational project is part of the Childlike Happiness 4 Everyone initiative, delivering happiness where it’s most needed. Transformations like this don't just happen overnight – they're built through meaningful partnerships, and through collaborating with local artist PAO and local municipalities, we were able to create an inclusive space for all to enjoy. Ce lo raccontano il nostro AD, Marco Piantanida, e lo street artist PAO nel servizio realizzato da UpTV, dedicato alla riqualificazione di Piazza Belloveso. Un progetto che rientra nel nostro programma di CSR “Childlike Happiness for Everyone”, sviluppato in collaborazione con il Comune di Milano.     What an incredible achievement from the Martin House Children's Hospice team! 🎉🎉 We can’t believe that THE BUILD Public Appeal has come to a close, finished off by the successful 36 hour 'Raise the Roof' fundraising challenge. What a journey it has been! To see the community come together and achieve such an outstanding result is truly inspiring. We are honoured to be able to play our part to support our long-standing partner Martin House to have met their fundraising target of £360k last weekend – raising over £400k so far and still counting! We are delighted that the hospice can now complete their biggest transformation project to date so that they can continue to deliver first-class care and create more moments of happiness for children and young adults with life limiting conditions, and their families across Yorkshire.   • September has been a month of celebration for the team at HARIBO UK with announcements on two new stores, expanding our UK retail footprint and bringing the childlike happiness of HARIBO to more fans across the country 🎉   First up, HARIBO UK opened its first Scottish store (and most northern store) at Silverburn in Glasgow, where visitors have the chance to buy every type of HARIBO in the UK, as well as some international varieties, and exclusive HARIBO merchandise featuring Goldbear!   Also, this month, HARIBO UK announced the opening of its 13th retail store at The Trafford Centre in Manchester, bringing to life the Happy World of HARIBO for the city's confectionary lovers. Like in Glasgow, visitors will be able to enjoy a delicious selection of UK treats, as well as favourites from HARIBO España, Haribo France and HARIBO Germany.

Designed by Milanese Street artist PAO and built in collaboration with local municipalities, the project delivered a new, inclusive community space filled with childlike happiness, in the heart of HARIBO Italia’s home city. This transformational project is part of HARIBO Italia's Childlike Happiness for Everyone initiative, which exemplifies HARIBO's commitment to supporting our global communities by bringing people together.     Abbiamo trasformato una piazza di Milano in una vera e propria Happyland!   Il 16 settembre si è svolto l'evento di inaugurazione della nuova Piazza Belloveso, un progetto di riqualificazione urbana che abbiamo promosso in collaborazione con il Comune di Milano e il Municipio 9, con l’obiettivo di restituire al quartiere Niguarda uno spazio pubblico inclusivo e dedicato al gioco, alla spensieratezza e alla condivisione.   L’intervento, che si inserisce nel percorso di responsabilità sociale Childlike Happiness for Everyone, riflette l'impegno dell'azienda nel diffondere felicità e spensieratezza, non solo attraverso le iconiche caramelle HARIBO, ma anche con azioni concrete a beneficio della comunità.   Grazie all'opera di floor painting dello street artist PAO, la piazza si è trasformata in un percorso immaginifico di nuvole, bolle e arcobaleni, dando vita a un'esperienza collettiva fatta di meraviglia e colori.   È stata un’occasione unica per incontrare la comunità e condividere con grandi e piccini un pomeriggio di festa, tra magie, giochi e le nostre immancabili caramelle! #HARIBOItalia #happyland #childlikehappinessforeveyone

  • We are pleased to launch our new series – the Sweet History of HARIBO – celebrating HARIBO’s long history of delivering childlike happiness by spotlighting milestones from across the business. First up, we’re celebrating liquorice – the second foundation stone in HARIBO’s success story. Today, liquorice is loved by HARIBO fans all around the world, from Zanzigliss and Tirlibibi in France, Salty Sea in the Nordics and Pontefract Cakes in the UK. But did you know liquorice is one of the world’s oldest sweets? 100 years ago, in 1925 HARIBO began producing liquorice products and they quickly become one of the company’s most important lines. HARIBO’s first liquorice product was a liquorice stick with HARIBO embossed on it (pictured below), which was then followed by fan-favourites Lakritzschneke (liquorice snail), and of course Pontefract Cakes. In the early years of making liquorice at HARIBO, the liquorice wheel was made by hand on a small machine. While it was Paul Riegel – our founder Hans Riegel’s brother – who eventually invented a fully automatic machine in the 1950s, he still kept a model of the original machine on his desk.   • HARIBO brings the Wonderful World of Phantasia to Toronto 🌈 ✨ #ICYMI - Last month, HARIBO brought a fantastical world of imagination to life with The World of Phantasia in Toronto, an immersive pop-up experience inspired by HARIBO's newly launched Phantasia Candy. More than just a sweet escape, the activation directly supported The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids), Canada's most research-intensive hospital and the largest centre dedicated to improving children's health in the country. As families were gearing up for the new school year, this was the perfect opportunity to enjoy some last-minute fun, connect with the community and support an important cause.
