Verification and Transparency Requirements for Select Advertisers Delivering Ads to Thailand

As part of Meta’s ongoing efforts to maintain high standards of platform safety and to comply with local guidelines in Thailand, we will begin to expand verification and transparency requirements for advertisers whose ads reach audiences in Thailand (including global campaigns) and who meet our risk criteria. Impacted advertisers will be required to:

  • Verify who benefits from and pays for their ads.
  • Once successfully verified, they will need to designate the beneficiary and payer of their ads, which will be included under the “Ad info” section of the ad and in the Ad Library.

If any of your accounts are required to complete this process, you will be notified via email and within common advertising tools like Ads Manager and Meta Business Suite. Once notified, you will have up to 7 days to complete the process. If you do not successfully verify before the indicated deadline, you will not be able to deliver ads to users in Thailand.

Required Action

Step 1: Verify the individuals or organizations that are the beneficiary and payer of your ads.

  • To avoid disruption to your ads or last-minute verification tasks that may impact your campaigns, we recommend that you start the verification process now.
  • MAPI advertisers will need to complete verification directly from one of the supported ad tools. Learn more about what the verification process entails in the Business Help Center.

Step 2: After successful verification, designate the beneficiary and payer of your ads delivering to Thailand.

  • To designate the beneficiary and payer of your ads you can either:
    • Set a default beneficiary and payer in advertising settings within Ads Manager;
    • Or include the following parameters for each new ad set you create that will deliver to audiences in Thailand (for more details on how to use these parameters, refer to the Ad set graph API doc and search the page for “Thailand.”):
      • Regional_regulated_categories - this is used to identify the regional regulations to which your ads will be relevant.
      • Regional_regulation_identities - this is used to identify the payer and beneficiary pages/businesses for your ads.

Note: If you are not required to adhere to Meta’s verification and transparency process to deliver ads to Thailand, you will have the option to verify proactively, but you may not be eligible to disclose verified beneficiary and payer information with your ads right away.
