On Thursday, November 20, the Philadelphia Flyers hosted their annual Hockey Fights Cancer Game, presented by Toyota, against the St. Louis Blues. As part of this league-wide initiative, Xfinity Mobile Arena turned lavender to show support for the fight against cancer and honor those impacted by the disease. This year’s ceremonial puck drop was especially meaningful as Jason Myrtetus, Flyers broadcaster and host of the Flyers Daily Podcast, stood at center ice surrounded by his care team after an incredible journey. Diagnosed with Stage 3 colorectal cancer in late 2024, Jason underwent extensive treatment with Penn Medicine. After nearly a year of care, his latest scans as of October 31, 2025, show no evidence of disease. Join us in celebrating Jason’s courage and resilience!

This past weekend, the Philadelphia Flyers and Ed Snider Youth Hockey & Education came together to celebrate the life and legacy of Hall of Fame goaltender Bernie Parent. The tributes began Friday night at Xfinity Mobile Arena with a Celebration of Life, where more than a thousand fans gathered to hear heartfelt stories from Bernie’s family, former teammates, and leaders from the Flyers and SNIDER who were impacted by #1. The program also featured a presentation by Council President Kenyatta Johnson of a City of Philadelphia resolution recognizing Bernie’s outstanding contributions to hockey and the Philadelphia community. In addition, Council President Johnson pledged a $5,000 donation to Ed Snider Youth Hockey & Education, which will be matched 2:1 by SNIDER for a total of $15,000 in Bernie’s honor. The celebration continued Saturday as the Flyers faced the New Jersey Devils. Ahead of the game, Flyers Charities and SNIDER announced the launch of the Bernie Parent Goalie Development Program, supported by a $50,000 donation from Flyers Charities to ensure Bernie’s commitment to the next generation of hockey players lives on for years to come. Fans enjoyed a full-arena Bernie patch giveaway, a pre-game dedication, and other tributes throughout the night. In a fitting end to a weekend honoring the Flyers champion, the Flyers defeated the Devils 6–3. Thank you to all who joined us in honoring #1.
