About us

There are a billion good intentions tucked inside each and every one of us. At GoFundMe, we believe that the impulse to help a person, fix a neighborhood, or change a nation should never be ignored. In fact, it should be shared with the entire world. That’s why we make it easy to inspire the world and turn your compassion into action. By giving people the tools they need to capture and share their story far and wide, we have built a community of more than 200 million donors and helped organizers raise over $15 billion for the causes important to them—and we are just getting started. Check out current job openings, join our team, and be a part of the change below. ## GoFundMe has assembled one of the best management teams in the business to build the next leading consumer Internet company, including leaders from LinkedIn, Groupon, and Google. We are also funded by some of Silicon Valley’s best venture capital firms, including Accel, Greylock, and TCV.

This Thanksgiving, we’re grateful for the food banks and community organizations working year-round to ensure everyone has access to nourishing meals. Their impact is essential—and especially felt today. If you’re able, consider supporting your local food bank. A little help goes a long way.

Each giving season, I’m reminded of the generosity people show and what drives them to help others. After joining GoFundMe, I kept hearing from our users that they want one place to see all their receipts, and to get more from their giving. That’s why we built Giving Funds. They make it easier to be intentional about the nonprofits you care about while receiving the tax benefits of a donor-advised fund, and still directing dollars to issues that matter to you most. You can set a yearly giving goal, track your progress, and avoid scrambling for receipts in December. This giving season, I’m incredibly proud that we’re making it easier for donors to create sustained, smart, and thoughtful impact – without complexity or gatekeeping. If you’re planning your year-end giving and donations, consider making a Giving Funds account so your impact can go further: https://gfme.co/4abVRnh

  • A beautiful moment at the Nashville Predators game this past weekend 💚 The team used GoFundMe’s Live Fundraising tools to rally fans in support of the 365 Pediatric Cancer Fund at Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt. Thanks to the generosity of the crowd, more than 240 donors have contributed over $53,000 so far: https://gfme.co/4ae5PVb The story behind the fundraiser was captured by Kara Lewis, one of our creator partners whose video we’ll share in the comments. This was a powerful example of pairing an impact creator with a meaningful cause—and bringing their message to a much wider audience than just those inside Bridgestone Arena. More of this energy as we head into giving season 👏

True impact doesn’t happen alone; it happens when creators, nonprofits, and communities come together. This week’s #ShortyImpact Award is a testament to the incredible work our teams at GoFundMe are doing, alongside our nonprofit partners, to support communities in crisis through thoughtful, creator-led storytelling. One project that captures the heart of this work is our partnership with Direct Relief and Kalina Silverman, who traveled to Texas this summer to document Direct Relief’s life-saving response to the devastating floods. Kalina spent time with families beginning to rebuild, first responders navigating unpredictable conditions, and volunteers supporting their neighbors. I’m deeply proud of the collaboration behind this effort and the many others like it in Los Angeles, Asheville, and beyond. When we pair mission-driven nonprofits with empathetic creators, we help ensure survivors’ stories are seen, supported, and not forgotten. 💚 Thank you to the teams and partners who made this work possible. This win belongs to all of you. Nonprofits and creators can learn more about these partnership opportunities here: https://gfme.co/47XIJRu

When movement meets mission, remarkable things happen. This Thanksgiving season, the Miles That Matter Challenge, powered by GoFundMe in support of the Alzheimer's Association®, invites people to turn a simple daily mile into meaningful impact. From November 24 to December 3, participants will move one mile a day for 10 days to honor families facing Alzheimer’s and other dementia, raising awareness and supporting the fight to end this disease. What I love about challenges like this is how they create a moment for people to show up in their own way: a quiet walk in honor of a loved one, a jog with friends, a family outing over the holiday weekend — all adding up to something bigger together. GoFundMe is proud to help power this movement of generosity and action. If you’re looking for a meaningful way to give back this season, this is a great place to start. 💚 Learn more and join the challenge: https://gfme.co/4rcJ9ej

  • We were honored this week to bring home a #ShortyImpact Award for Emergency Relief, recognizing our efforts to use storytelling that drives recovery. When disasters hit, support often fades long before survivors even begin rebuilding. That’s why we’ve been pairing purpose-driven creators with GoFundMe organizers in crisis zones — a model we’ve now repeated across multiple disasters and will continue to build on. Partners like Kalina Silverman of Big Talk and Direct Relief have helped us capture first-person stories with care, keep survivor needs in the spotlight, and reignite support long after the headlines disappear. We are so grateful for this recognition — and even more thankful for the people of Altadena, the Pacific Palisades, Asheville, Central Texas, and Jamaica, for sharing their stories, as well as creators like Kalina who make this work possible. We’re deeply grateful to Carolina Panthers running back Rico Dowdle for transforming a lighthearted moment into a powerful act of generosity. After being fined for his “two-pump” touchdown celebration, Rico launched a GoFundMe that raised $45,000 for Children’s Home Society of North Carolina, helping us continue our mission of building strong families and ensuring every child has a safe, permanent, and loving home. Thank you, Rico, and everyone who contributed to this incredible effort. Your support will make a lasting impact across North Carolina. 💙 #CHS4Families #CommunityImpact #CarolinaPanthers #RicoDowdle #Leadership #Philanthropy #BetterTogether

Direct Relief is honored to be recognized as a key partner in a project led by GoFundMe that received a Shorty Impact Award (presented by Shorty Awards) last night in the Storytelling That Drives Recovery – Crisis category.   The award-winning entry was part of a broader GoFundMe campaign using creator-led storytelling to highlight the experiences of survivors and first responders after disasters. As part of this effort, GoFundMe partnered with Kalina Silverman of Make Big Talk on a Texas floods segment developed in collaboration with Direct Relief. Kalina joined Direct Relief’s team on the ground and shared content highlighting the work of TEXSAR: Texas Search and Rescue during the response.   Direct Relief is grateful for the meaningful impact of this collaboration with Kalina and GoFundMe and reinforces its commitment to strong partnerships during emergency response.
