Meet Richard C. Rose, a senior materials manager with Miller Electric Mfg. LLC, who served as a construction mechanic in the U.S. Navy Seabees from 2007–2015. As a leader within the ITW Veterans & Allies Alliance (IVAA), he fosters inclusivity by elevating the voices of veterans across our decentralized, entrepreneurial culture. In recognition of National Veterans and Military Families Month, Rich reflects on how his military experience continues to shape his ITW career. Q: What skills or values from your military experience help you add value in your current role? A: The Navy helped me develop as a leader and understand the value of being prepared for any possible "storm" that may arise. The Navy core values of honor, courage and commitment overlap with the ITW Core Values, and the Seabees' “Can-Do” motto lends itself to ITW's decentralized and entrepreneurial culture. Q: What has been the most rewarding part of your involvement with IVAA? A: Building connections with other veterans and allies throughout the larger ITW enterprise and hearing some of their stories and experiences. The employee resource group helps fill the gap of camaraderie and brotherhood I felt in the military, even if part of that is friendly trash talk before the annual Army vs. Navy football game. Go Navy – Beat Army! Q: What advice do you have for non-service members looking to support veterans and their families? A: The simplest way is to say, “thank you.” Take the time to attend local events, volunteer with a veteran charity or have an in-depth conversation with a veteran close to you. Had I not asked to hear some of my grandfather’s stories, I would have never known about an important period in his life. #ProudToBeITW

The Taiwan chapter of the ITW Women’s Network (IWN) recently welcomed members to Tientai Electrode Company in Tainan for an afternoon of learning, collaboration and inspiration. The event began with an overview of the division’s history, core values and product innovations, followed by a facility tour showcasing its advanced welding technologies and manufacturing processes. Jay Fan, Tientai’s technical director, shared practical insights into how Customer-Back Innovation drives growth across the business. Leaders from the local chapter of ITW’s Young Professionals Network (YPN) participated in the event and were invited to highlight their upcoming programming to support greater collaboration between the two employee resource groups. A casual lunch and creative painting activity rounded out the afternoon, giving attendees another opportunity to connect, share and grow together. #ProudToBeITW

It was great meeting so many students last weekend at the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) Region IV Conference! For the Saturday morning keynote address, ITW colleagues Kenneth Escoe, executive vice president of our Specialty Products segment; Jenai D. M. Alexis business unit manager with Alpine, an ITW Company; and Ashley Lynch, production manager with ITW Residential Construction - U.S., participated in a fireside chat. The discussion focused on encouraging attendees to embrace an entrepreneurial mindset as they begin their career journeys. ITW team members shared personal lessons each involving connections made through NSBE and their eventual path to ITW – illustrating what inspired them to pursue engineering and how they learned to embrace opportunities they didn't necessarily expect. #ProudToBeITW

“You’re never more than a few feet away from a product of ITW.” In the 1960s, ITW accelerated our global expansion and introduced bold, new ways to connect with customers. We were among the first manufacturers to advertise on radio, launching a series of spots in Chicago and Detroit featuring the above tagline. This era marked the start of diversification beyond automotive tooling into construction, food equipment and packaging – all powered by the ITW Business Model and our commitment to Customer-Back Innovation. #ProudToBeITW

Last week, colleagues joined ITW’s MultiCultural Network (MCN) for a virtual event to share personal stories, celebrate cultural traditions and honor trailblazers from around the world. The engaging session marked Black History Month in the United Kingdom — celebrated each October — and MCN’s upcoming first anniversary as one of ITW’s eight employee resource groups (ERGs). As our first ERG with origins in Europe, MCN continues to foster belonging and inclusion while helping attract top talent by creating space for open dialogue, self-reflection and shared learning. #ProudToBeITW #BlackHistoryMonth #BHM2025
