It truly takes a village to shape the future of cancer care. Recently, members of the team who are working on the Phillip and Susan Ragon Building construction project gathered on the bridge that will soon connect the new facility to Massachusetts General Hospital's main campus. This moment represents just a fraction of the countless individuals whose dedication has brought us this far—and whose efforts will continue long after the building opens in early 2028. Pictured: Members from Mass General Brigham Leadership, Mass General Brigham Cancer Institute, Turner Construction Company / Walsh Brothers, Incorporated, Leggat McCall Properties, NBBJ Design, Reed Hilderbrand, BR+A, McNamara • Salvia, Structural Engineers and Massachusetts General Hospital: planning and construction, development, buildings and grounds.

The Teaching Kitchen at the Mass General Revere Food Pantry was designed to welcome patients committed to healthier living. What we didn’t anticipate was how quickly it would also become a hub for clinicians, researchers, policymakers and advocates advancing the Food is Medicine movement. Recently, Jacob Mirsky, MD, medical director of the Revere Food Pantry and Teaching Kitchen, and his team hosted members of The Aspen Institute and Ardmore Institute of Health to convene on Food is Medicine funding and reimbursement strategies. The session sparked thoughtful dialogue, fresh insights and new collaborations. Priscilla Wang, MD, led an in-depth discussion on Food is Medicine state funding models and joined other Mass General Brigham experts contributing to the conversation: Anne Fox, Emma Steinberg, MD, and Lauren Fiechtner, MD.

I leave work early to be here and participate and improve myself.” — Tricia Miller, HEART of Communities patient HEART of Communities is a collaboration between Boston Medical Center (BMC), Mass General Brigham, and Mattapan Community Health Center that brings care directly into Boston neighborhoods, providing hands-on education, nutrition guidance, and medical support.
