Happy Thanksgiving from Philabundance! Thanksgiving is a great day to kick off our new #ThankfulThursday series, when we highlight some of the generous donors supporting our work. Today we’re thankful to ShopRite and Wakefern Food Corp. for pledging $1.25 million in food and funds to food banks across the region to support families this holiday season. Philabundance is using our portion of this generous gift to immediately provide healthy, fresh food for families across the nine counties that we serve! #Philabundance #FoodBankSupport #CommunityGiving

About us
Philabundance seeks to drive hunger from our communities today and end hunger forever. It serves approximately 90,000 people per week, a third of whom are children and 15% of whom are seniors. In 2016, Philabundance distributed approximately 24 million pounds of food through its own neighborhood distribution programs and through a network of 350 member agencies in 9 counties in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Three quarters of a million people in our service area face hunger every day. Their stories are as diverse as the nine counties we serve: working families hit hard by the recession, women, children, seniors trying to make ends meet. The one thing they have in common is being part of a food system that desperately needs additional support. Philabundance was founded in 1984 with the simple belief that no man, woman or child should go hungry. Join us.

The 28th annual WMMR Preston & Steve’s Camp Out for Hunger saw a 27% increase in donations compared to previous years, raising over 1.8 million pounds of food and over $1.6 million, which will go directly to supporting our neighbors. None of this would have been possible without our incredibly generous donors, volunteers, and partners. A special thanks to 93.3 WMMR Philadelphia, Preston and Steve, and all of Pierre Robert’s "good citizens" who donated in honor of his legacy. #WMMR #CampOutForHunger #CommunitySupport #HungerRelief
