The holiday season is often portrayed as joyful, but many people experience a noticeable shift in their mood as the celebrations approach. These feelings, commonly called the "holiday blues," refer to short-term periods of sadness, stress or emotional fatigue that can arise during this time of year. Common signs may include lower energy or fatigue, difficulty staying present during gatherings or feeling isolated (even when not alone). Learn more about why holiday blues may occur, more common signs and ways to feel more grounded from Dr. Marie Didario, of the RWJBarnabas Behavioral Health Center: https://lnkd.in/emp9Cc8A If you or a loved one seeks help accessing a mental health professional, call (800) 300-0628 or visit rwjbh.org/behavioralhealth. From community centers and churches to FQHCs and neighborhood nonprofits, we joined partners across New Jersey to support families facing food insecurity this Thanksgiving. With nearly 30 food giveaways statewide – and the help of dedicated volunteers, local farmers and trusted community organizations! – we provided thousands of residents holiday meals. And while the holidays shine a light on the needs of the most vulnerable among us, our commitment stands year-round. Since 2023, RWJBarnabas Health has invested almost $20 million in local food insecurity programs and infrastructure. Together, we’re strengthening the health of our communities!

RWJBarnabas Health's holiday season of giving is in full swing! Together, we’re strengthening the health of our communities – one family, one farm, and one food drive at a time. Amid disruptions to SNAP benefits, our teams partnered with local organizations across the state to host nearly 30 food drives in 7 counties, offering families access to 37+ tons of fresh, locally grown produce and 4,100+ turkeys. Here are more moments captured during our recent holiday drives with our community partners. And we’re not stopping there! Since 2023, RWJBarnabas Health has invested nearly $20M in local food programs, with another $7M planned for 2026 to continue supporting long-term solutions to food insecurity. #Thanksgiving
