Norwegian impact in SF. Erik Nymo Bohne and I have met a lot of awesome (mostly Norwegian) people in SF the last couple of days. Just met a Norwegian founder at SHACK15 on the northern flank of the iconic San Fransisco Ferry Building - surrounded by hundreds of VCs and VC backed companies in all funding stages. It is funny seeing a Norwegian-named Cocktail , and a coffee table book showcasing mountain ski slopes at Norefjell. And guess what, the man who founded shack15, and the enabler of such community; is Norwegian. Big ups Jørn Lyseggen for being the «løypebrøyter» and leading the way💡

The Importance of Humanity in the Era of Robotics and AI Yesterday at SHACK15 in San Francisco’s Ferry Building (Sila B | Health Ventures co-working space) they held a demo of humanoid robotics. I stood one yard away from a robot, boxing gloves on. The feeling was strange: first surprise, then excitement, then grounding and finally, sobering. Because up close, it moves like us, balances like us. Yet there’s no warmth behind the gestures. No intention. No human spark. That absence chills you. We don’t usually notice it, but our humanity is carried in expressions, tone, hesitation, even imperfection. A robot stripped of all that reminds us: human feelings and sensibility are our greatest asset. And yet, robotics and AI are converging. Soon they will not only mimic movement, but also decision-making and response. The line between tool and partner will blur. ChatGPT recently scored 148 on the Mensa IQ test. Intelligence and embodiment are now racing forward in parallel. In healthcare, this future is both daunting and full of promise. Imagine: • Robots performing physical tasks on patients without fatigue. • AI guiding decisions in real time with more data than any clinician could hold. • Machines assisting in operating rooms, ICUs, or elder care. But the essence of care: comfort, presence, empathy will remain ours to give. Technology can support, extend, and protect. But it cannot feel. That’s why leading with humanity is doubly important in the era of AI and in healthcare, it is truly indispensable.
