We take pride in our intentionally sustainable approach through our circular manufacturing model. Our metals recycling platform collects and processes scrap, which is then sold to end users for reuse, including our EAF steel mills and aluminum operations. Our products are sold to consumers and to our manufacturing businesses, which in turn provide finished products to customers. Steel Dynamics Tour de Plants riders once again completed the 300-mile, 3-day cycling tour across SDI’s Indiana steel operations. This year’s charity partner is NAMI Fort Wayne, the local affiliate of the National Alliance on Mental Illness. Proceeds from the Tour de Plants will support mental health awareness efforts, aiming to reduce stigma and promote hope, health, and recovery for all those affected by mental illness. This Climate Week, we are proud of the progress our teams have made toward our decarbonization goals and are excited for our path forward. Our steel mills have achieved a 9% decrease in their Scope 1, 2, and 3 greenhouse gas emissions intensity since our 2022 baseline. Our steel mills also achieved their 2025 renewable electrical energy goal in 2023—ahead of schedule. In 2025, we began the commissioning of our biocarbon production facility which will produce biocarbon as a renewable replacement for anthracite in our steelmaking operations, representing a significant step toward the decarbonization of our steel mills. Our decarbonization strategy is an ongoing journey, and we plan to use our entrepreneurial spirit to continue as a leader in the industry. #SteelDynamics #ClimateWeek2025
