About us
The Texas Association of Health Plans (TAHP) is the statewide trade association representing commercial and public health plans—including Medicaid, Medicare Advantage, and individual market plans—and related health care organizations operating in Texas. Since 1987, TAHP has served as the leading voice for the health plan community, advocating for policies that improve access, affordability, and quality of care for Texans. Our members provide coverage to more than 20 million people through employer-sponsored insurance, individual plans, and public programs. TAHP brings together industry leaders, policymakers, and stakeholders to address the state’s most pressing health care challenges. Through advocacy, education, and collaboration, we work to ensure Texans can get the care they need—when they need it—at a price they can afford.

Texas Medicaid is more than coverage. It’s a partnership between providers, health plans, and communities that helps more than 4 million Texans access care, support, and stability. Across our state, providers go beyond clinic walls to coordinate services that improve lives — from home health visits and transportation to preventive care that keeps families healthy. This approach delivers better outcomes and measurable savings for taxpayers, proving that managed care works for Texas. Every connection strengthens our communities and brings care closer to home.
