The Clubs at St. James, in partnership with Troon, proudly sponsored and hosted several talented students from COAST (Center of Applied Sciences and Technology) in nearby Bolivia, North Carolina, for the third annual St. James Chopped Event. The competition, which took place on Thursday, November 20, proved to be a fun, hands-on opportunity for students to showcase their culinary skills and engage with the St. James community. Working under the guidance of Executive Chef Peter Holderied, the student chefs demonstrated creativity, teamwork, and professionalism throughout the event. Congratulations to Matt Fitzpatrick and Rory McIlroy on an unforgettable season finale in Dubai! Matt, a proud member of Team Troon, captured his third DP World Tour Championship title after a dramatic playoff victory over Rory. His bogey-free final round of 66 secured an 18-under finish and capped a remarkable comeback year. Rory, a longtime Troon supporter and investor, delivered his trademark brilliance with an eagle on the 72nd hole to force the playoff—and while he narrowly missed the tournament win, he claimed his seventh Race to Dubai crown (and fourth consecutive), moving within one of Colin Montgomerie’s all-time record. Two champions, united by excellence and a shared commitment to the game. #TeamTroon

Maui junior golfers enjoyed a chance to play the Kapalua Plantation Golf Course a day before the course reopens on Nov. 10, 2025. The course has been closed since Sept. 2, 2025. The event hosted approximately 48 golfers aged 10 - 17. Kapalua Golf General Manager Alex Nakajima presented a check totaling $117,000 to the representatives of Lahaina Junior Golf, Hawai‘i State Junior Golf Association/First Tee of Hawai‘i, and Maui Junior Golf to support their missions. This comes from funds donated by Mr. Tadashi Yanai, President of TY Management and owner of Kapalua Golf.
