During his visit to India, Red Hat’s Chief Product Officer Ashesh Badani spoke with BW Businessworld about the company’s approach to AI and the importance of “open source”. He also discussed why India with its scale, talent and linguistic diversity has a unique opportunity to lead in building open, inclusive AI ecosystems -- writes Rohit Chintapali on BW Businessworld. Sharing the excerpts from this interview that stood out for me: "Red Hat is focused on bringing openness to AI, just as we did with Linux and containers. This includes ensuring flexibility, transparency and avoiding lock-in for users." "With the rapid pace of AI, there is also caution. Questions around harm, bias, and accountability are front and centre." "We are closely aligned with IBM’s Granite models, which support many languages. Globally, we have seen governments, like in Spain’s Basque region and Saudi Arabia, fund native language AI efforts. I expect India to follow a similar path. Any meaningful push for Indic languages must come from within India, given its unique motivation and expertise to scale and support them. We anticipate more homegrown initiatives in this space." 🚀 Sharing BigQuery's Momentum: 5X Customers, Unified AI & Data, and What's Next! It was a pleasure to sit down with Savannah Peterson and David Vellante on SiliconANGLE & theCUBE at Google Cloud Next recently! ✨ We had a fantastic discussion diving into the incredible scale and innovation happening with our data platform, BigQuery. 🚀 Exciting, helpful launch for AWS #FinOps practitioners today: we're integrating cur.vantage.sh into the Vantage console. Now, whenever you're viewing a Cost Report or a Resource page, you'll have direct links to the relevant pages on cur.vantage.sh to help explain what the AWS billing actually is in simplistic terms. The Amazon Web Services (AWS) Cost and Usage Report contains tens of thousands of distinct billing codes that are oftentimes pretty opaquely named or confusing. FinOps practitioners may have learned what they mean over the years in bits and pieces but engineering, finance and management counterparts who were being invited to the Vantage console viewing these reports may have been left a bit in the dark trying to make sense of what they meant. We recently launched cur.vantage.sh which is a community tool that acts as a dictionary for AWS billing codes and as of today its directly integrated into the Vantage console.
