- [Narrator] In business analytics, we're often called upon to examine not only how our own firm is performing, but also how our firm is performing against the industry or against some of our key competitors. I'm in the zero four zero three begin Excel spreadsheet. Now, when we look at competitors, oftentimes, one of the challenges that we face is that they might be either larger or smaller than us. They're probably not going to be exactly the same size as we are. So oftentimes it's useful, not necessarily to look at our own financials directly in dollar terms, but rather to look at things on a relative size basis. So what I've done here is go through and put together a hypothetical set of data for four different firms and the industry as a whole. And what we're looking at here is all of our key expense items, but on a percentage basis. So I think that one of the most useful things we can look at from a competitive analysis…
