Cell fill and borders

Cell fill and borders help categorize and draw attention to specific areas of your spreadsheet. It seems straightforward, but I see a lot of people use them the wrong way. After watching this video, you'll know the 3 different ways to apply cell borders and you'll know the limitations of cell fill colors. You find the cell borders and cell fill tools on the Home tab of the ribbon. I'll start by formatting the header with cell fill color. Clicking on the dropdown gives us the color palette like we had for the font formatting. We can go into more colors and choose from standard or custom. I just want a standard color, so I'm going to go back to the dropdown and I can actually choose from one of my recent colors that I created. So in keeping with my header, we'll make it dark blue and then we need to change the font to white so we can see it.
