It can be so frustrating having to reteach. Have you ever led a training and then a few weeks later someone still has no idea how to do the task you taught? Yikes. Including gamification into your training gives you the ability to obtain real time data. Think of gamification as not only being a fun way to engage learners, but also like a pitstop to understand the level of comprehension and make any needed adjustments. Providing feedback causes learners to be invested in their knowledge journey and will increase learner engagement. In simple terms, the learner needs to be involved in the process. Some ways I love to have learners play a part is by keeping their own score in a game, having them physically interact with the activity or give them space for their voice to be heard. When feedback is given, whether it be during an activity or after, the learner should have a clear picture of their efforts. Do this and they will be invested.
