- The heart of Scrum is the idea that amazing things happen if you have a group of people with the right skills and point them at a problem worth solving. The Scrum team is the fundamental unit of delivery in Scrum. It consists of 10 or fewer people to ensure the cost of coordination and collaboration is not too high. You've just learned about accountability, right? So the Scrum team is accountable for creating a valuable increment every sprint. An increment is the result of the work they're doing in pursuit of the product goal. Think of it as updates to the product. They're responsible for the product related activities. Basically, they do all the work and deliver value. Scrum teams have six important characteristics. They're cohesive. They work together as a tight knit collaborative team, supportive of one another, and fostering trust among team members. They're focused.
