- [Instructor] I fired up Power BI Desktop again, and now we're going to talk about how we connect to databases. Because most enterprise level data is not kept in Excel or in CSV files, it's kept in databases. So when we choose get data and click more and go to the database category, we get a list of the databases that we can import data from. And regardless of the type of database you choose, the process will be similar. You're going to choose a kind of database first and then click connect. So we might, for example, choose SQL server and click connect. And the next thing that we will be asked is what's the name of this server and what's the name of the database? And note under server, we could also enter a report number. So this is the information that we would need to be able to connect to this database.
