Configuring VM logs
- [Instructor] In this lecture, we're going to look at the different options we have available to us for capturing and monitoring logs on virtual machines within Azure. So there is certain logging that is automatic and enabled by default. So for example, when you're looking at a virtual machine in the Azure portal, the first option we have is this activity log. So this activity log gives us information about the Azure plane of our virtual machine configuration. And what I mean by this is any actions that we take within the Azure portal that affect the virtual machine would appear in this log. So for example, we can see that I started the virtual machine around about an hour ago. We also have metrics by default, and on the left-hand side, if we scroll down to the Monitoring section, we can go to Metrics and we can automatically get certain metrics from our virtual machine. So for example, we could get the percentage CPU and these metrics come from within the VM itself. So these come…
