- [Instructor] If you have a list of data that you want to group and summarize, you can create an outline of up to eight levels, one for each group. You can also calculate all of your data with totals and subtotals. After watching this video, you'll know how to apply subtotals and totals to your data and how to group and ungroup columns and rows. Let's take a look at our 0305 group data workbook. On the 2022 sales worksheet, we have all of the information for 2022 for quarters one, two, three, and four. Wouldn't it be nice if we could summarize this information and get a subtotal for each of the quarters and then a grand total for all four quarters? We will start by selecting all of the information, including our column headings. Go to our data tab, outline, and these are our options.
