- So we've got two methods, right? We've got adaptive agile and predictive waterfall. And you'd say, "Okay, how do I know which one to use?" Well, sometimes agile is just not going to work. And these are the areas where agile is not going to work. You might have what are called immutable requirements. What that means is they cannot be negotiated or the system will be compromised. Immutable requirements. These typically show up in things like military systems, right? I've used the example before where we have a plane flying at mach two. If you fly at 1.7, you might be able to build it faster and cheaper, but it would be of no use, right? The system would be compromised. It wouldn't be able to do its mission. So sometimes the requirements are immutable. You cannot change them. Medical systems have very strong controls, especially if you're doing it in a hospital where you're working with patients.
