- [Instructor] Before you even sit down and start working with Power BI, you should know a thing or two about data analysis. Now, there are three things that make an analyst really effective, and they are, number one, business domain knowledge. Number two, empathy. You need to have your end user in mind and understand how the person who's going to consume your analysis actually thinks. And finally, you need to have the technical skills to actually implement on your analysis. So let's talk about domain knowledge. Business domain knowledge is very important because it helps you truly understand the problem or the end goal of the analysis. Understanding how the business functions means you can take a more holistic approach to your analysis.
