- Once you've made a screencast, it's easier than ever to share it. That's because sharing a video online has become very popular. Obviously, platforms like YouTube or Vimeo are great choices. And depending upon your needs, you should look at each. YouTube is perfect for reaching a broad audience if you're targeting consumers. However, tools like Vimeo or other platforms that are paid services, give you more control over privacy, letting you lock the content to specific domains, and blocking it from general search. If you're going to be doing work for a corporation, for example, Vimeo is a much better option because you don't have to worry about ads popping up or your content appearing in broad searches and easily being redistributed to other people that you didn't intend to see it.
