Flash Raspberry Pi OS to a microSD card
- [Instructor] There are two ways you can install an operating system to a microSD card: Raspberry Pi Imager, and a network install. Raspberry Pi Imager is a software tool from Raspberry Pi that will download an operating system image and write it to the microSD card. You'll run it on your regular computer, then move the microSD card to the Raspberry Pi. If you're using a member of the Raspberry Pi Zero family, you'll want to watch the video "Configure a Raspberry Pi to run headless" before you create your SD card. You can download Raspberry Pi Imager from raspberrypi.com/software. It's available for Windows, Mac, and Ubuntu Linux. Quickly download link for your operating system, minus MacOS, and install it. Make sure you have a microSD card inserted in your computer and then run the imager. You may be prompted to authorize the application to run. There are three buttons on Raspberry Pi Imager.
