What great content looks like on LinkedIn

- Okay, so now that you're clear on what it is that you actually wanna achieve with content, it's really important to understand what type of content does well on platform. I feel like this is the question that we get all the time. What content do members find most engaging on LinkedIn? Everybody wants to know, and the answer is really twofold. Number one, posts shared by connections, which makes sense, right? Members care about what people in their network are doing. I care about what my network's doing, and you wanna know what they have to say. You're probably gonna recognize this content in your own feed. Think like that old schoolmate who started a new job, or an ex-colleague who maybe received an award, and they made a post about it. That kind of thing. But what type of content do members find most engaging from people that they don't know? The answer is actually really simple. Outside of their networks, members are most likely to engage with content that is grounded in professional knowledge, opinions, or advice. Think about content that's gonna offer value to others. And because of that, one of LinkedIn's key goals is to connect that content, that knowledge-driven and professionally relevant content to the right audiences at the right time. You're gonna see this in your feed as suggested content, for example. Okay, so if you wanna grow your visibility and grow beyond your network, you need to be creating content that leans into your expertise. Think about what you are uniquely qualified to talk about. So, like, what do you geek out about with colleagues at lunch? Or maybe there's a tidbit that really resonated in your last meeting and everyone's still talking about it the next day. Your answers to those questions are gonna make really great LinkedIn posts. We're gonna explore this and some more content strategies in the next chapter, too, so stay tuned. And one good thing to remember, when people are engaging with your content, they're probably gonna click through to your profile. So, before you start posting, just make sure that your profile is reflecting the story that you wanna tell about yourself and your professional life. And if you need some help with your profile, I highly recommend the Rock Your Profile course. It is an amazing resource and a great deep dive to get your profile into shape. Oh, and one more quick profile tip. If you're really looking to grow your audience on the platform, go into your visibility settings and make sure that you turn on the follow button on your profile. That way, if someone who doesn't know you comes to your profile, they're not gonna be able to connect with you first thing. They're gonna see that follow button and follow your content instead.
