Zip and unzip archive files
- [Instructor] Here in File Explorer, I'll use the shortcut to go to my documents folder where I have the exercise files for this course. And I'll go to this folder called recipes where I see a ZIP file. Now, at some point you may encounter a ZIP file like this. This is an archive file that contains several other files. If you download files from the web, a ZIP file is pretty common, or if you have several files that you need to send to somebody, often it's easier to ZIP them altogether into one file. Then you'll just have one file to send. Okay, so this is a ZIP file, but how do I know that? Well, in my case, I recognize the icon. And also since I'm in the details view, when I look at the type column, it tells me that the type of this file is a compressed ZIP folder. But this is a case where it might also help if you could see your file extensions. So if you go to the view menu, go to show and tell it to turn on file name…
