If you can't measure it, you can't manage it. We’re proud to join Carbon Measures, a newly formed coalition of leading global businesses committed to advancing a framework for accurate, verifiable carbon emissions accounting. “The first step to reducing global emissions is to know where they’re coming from—and today, we don’t have an accurate system to do this. A standard carbon emissions accounting methodology provides a necessary foundation for a framework that will encourage competition, leverage each company’s strengths, and mobilize market forces to meet the challenge of growing energy demand while lowering emissions.” -Darren Woods, Chairman & CEO ExxonMobil Don't miss the full story in the comments below ⬇️
Great initiative
Knowing where they are coming from is indeed the start of the journey. What get measured, gets managed!
A standardized, verifiable methodology is the 'sine qua non' for systemic decarbonization; this coalition is forging the essential grammar for the entire climate discussion. This matter needs an advanced accountability.
"Anytime I see stories about what ExxonMobil is doing on CO2 and climate change, I think about what they really do. That is to spread climate misinformation and disinformation. They will do absolutely nothing to help manage climate change. Nothing." — John Wind https://lnkd.in/gy2cGgmj
