I am not excited about visual workflow builders 1. Not simple enough for the average user. I believe there should be a simpler way to create, modify, and adapt no-code agents 2. Not scalable for complex use cases Wrote a little blog: https://lnkd.in/gDV8pECM
Strong agree. I just wrote this about OpenAI’s launch, and an alternative approach we took with Fin: https://ideas.fin.ai/p/a-tale-of-two-agent-builders
Great post! I just got asked today my opinions on low-code AI builders. I always struggle with finding situations that are low enough complexity to fit insde the constraints of a visual flow builder - and because I know how to code, I find it so much easier to capture that complexity in code. As for making it easier to build no-code agents: that implies to me that we need MCP registries for tools (which we have now). I also think we'd need something like middleware registries, for common tasks like context summarization. That middleware isn't standardized, so it'd dependent on the agent framework - unless MCP/A2A has something in that space.
Shouldn't it just be voice
Agreed!
Here in Austin, we are speaking to our agentic development tools. Gui drag and drops are so limited compared to the state of the art
I agree I think for the average user they need to explain via voice they need instead of linking boxes. Agent builder agent should just link those boxes from the voice instructions. For complex use cases, bigger conversation. But yea this is kind of like the purgatory of agent builders imo
Totally agree
Legit
Very interesting take. I like having yet another workflow builder in the market, specially coming from such a big player. It gives new insights, new takes on old problems and maybe, just maybe, pushes the ideas forward enough that actually new stuff pops out.
