After the Northvolt deportation farce, now Sweden prepares to deport a future doctor from the north, as reported by Lars Westerlund. Dalya Jaf turned 19 on November 7. Her birthday gift? A deportation notice. She arrived in Sweden at eight years old. That's more than half her life spent in Jörn, speaking Swedish at home, excelling and making friends at school, dreaming of becoming a surgeon. Her entire family works here, her parents at the local nursing home. Dalya is a top student in her final year, heading for medical school. #Norrland desperately needs doctors. Sweden desperately needs people like Dalya. Yet Swedish Migration Agency says "no". She's too old now for a family permit. The technicality trumps the humanity AND the benefit to Swedish society. The perfect example of a government shooting itself in the foot. Again. Her teacher, Camilla Hunesjö, doesn't mince words: "I am ashamed of this system that means a person who has lived in Sweden for ten years and contributes to the development of society suddenly has to leave." More than 1,100 people have signed a petition. They see what the government refuses to see: Dalya belongs here. Link in comments.

And yet the migration minister visits Canada on a fact finding mission on how to attract foreign workforce. This government is an embarrassment.

This situation in Sweden is truly sad to see. Sweden is one of the best countries in the EU, with excellent education and a strong need for skilled professionals—especially future doctors like Dalya, who grew up there and clearly belongs in the country she calls home. During my time in Sweden, I also noticed a mismatch in the visa system. Some people enter on IT consultant visas but work in completely different fields, and their extensions are often approved as long as taxes are paid. Meanwhile, genuine students and qualified professionals face stricter checks, delays, and rejections. This creates an unfair imbalance. Visa types should align with a person’s education, job role, and actual contribution. That would make the system more fair and transparent. After facing similar challenges, I moved to Germany, where the visa process was more consistent and qualification-based. I share this not to criticize Sweden, but because I care about the country and hope these issues are addressed. Improving fairness and evaluation would help Sweden retain talents like Dalya, who truly contribute to its future.

Same thing has happened to two of my daughters friends. I honestly couldn’t believe this could happen to kids (technically adults) still in school. I talked about it with my Swedish colleagues and none of them had a clue that this was going on.

ICE in disguise - Sweden is sure a sad sight these days - really cant understand how we act on performing individuals (tax payers) while we at same time cuddle numerous slackers usually Swedes by Birth!
