Casually scrolling through your social feed is becoming increasingly fraught: What’s real? Who’s real? And how can you tell the difference? AI-generated faces blink, breathe, and speak with familiar voices. News stories travel faster than fact-checking ever could, bolstered by hyper-realistic videos. The explosion of generative AI has made it easier than ever to create and connect, which we love! But these tools can also deceive. 

Cybercrime remains one of the fastest-growing global threats, with an expected global cost of US$10.5 trillion by the end of 2025, according to Cybersecurity Ventures. If cybercrime were a country, it would represent the world’s third-largest economy. And the pace isn’t slowing — it’s projected to cost the world US$1 trillion per month by 2031. Staggering, right? 

And check this: Lenovo’s own research reveals that 65% of IT leaders think their defenses can’t withstand AI cybercrime.
