Where Practical AI Meets Mission Need

This month at Primer, we leaned into what matters most: putting AI to work where it counts. Whether it’s on the podcast mic, at national security summits, or supporting analysts on the frontlines, we’re focused on the same mission: making AI practical, trusted, and operational from day one.

If you’re looking for AI that’s built for outcomes, not experiments, you’re in the right place. We’re sharing lessons from real deployments, spotlighting the voices behind the mission, and showing how AI can cut through complexity rather than create more of it.

FEATURED PODCAST: Artificial Intelligence and Aerospace Power: Industry Leadership Insights

Primer CEO Sean Moriarty and CPO Leonard Law joined Heather Penney on The Aerospace Advantage podcast, hosted by The Mitchell Institute for Aerospace Studies , to explore how mission-aligned AI is transforming national security operations. From surfacing key insights in real time to supporting operators with decision-ready intelligence, they unpacked how AI is being used to meet real-world needs like staying ahead of evolving drone threats in the counter-UAS mission space.

In that domain and others, Primer’s AI helps analysts fuse open-source intelligence with proprietary reporting to detect shifting tactics, payload innovations, and adversary workarounds, turning reactive processes into proactive advantage.

Unlocking Efficiency and Integrity in Government Operations

What does it really take to move AI from pilot to production in government?

Timur Nersesov , Senior Director of Customer Success at Primer, shared hard-earned lessons during a September FedInsider.com AI Roundtable.

Here are the key takeaways:

𝐏𝐢𝐥𝐨𝐭𝐬 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞’𝐬 𝐧𝐨 𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐠-𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐦 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐧. AI projects need a clear path into a funded program or they risk being abandoned after the demo ends.

𝐌𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐬𝐞𝐭𝐛𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐬 𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐧’𝐭 𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥. Poor data pipelines and lack of data readiness cause more problems than the models themselves.

𝐄𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐲 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐫𝐮𝐩𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧. AI reduces the time required to complete tasks. If leaders don’t anticipate how to repurpose that time, the result is confusion or cuts.

𝐓𝐨𝐨𝐥𝐬 𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐬𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐥 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤. Adoption happens when AI improves the workflows people are already responsible for—not when it adds new ones on top.

𝐀𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤 𝐛𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐜 𝐭𝐚𝐬𝐤𝐬. Treat them like teammates, not features. Connect them to mission execution, not just experimentation.

The real challenge isn’t deploying AI. It’s absorbing it.
