Here’s what you should be doing. #1 - Understand SKU velocity Look at your sales data. What’s flying off the shelves? Those are your fast-moving SKUs. Use inventory management software to track this and place those products in warehouses close to your biggest customer bases. Keep it simple! Fast sellers go where demand is highest. #2 - Dig deep into demand forecasting Dig into past sales trends and look at your seasonal spikes. Use some analytical tools to help predict what is going to be hot next month/quarter etc. Please don't forget that marketing campaigns can mess with demand. Make sure your fulfillment team is ready when they drop a big promo. (I am screaming this last line; so many people forget) #3 - Optimized Distribution Run simulations of your current shipping routes to identify inefficiencies.
