Are you planning any workplace wellness activities to kick off the new year? One of my newsletter subscribers recently asked me, “Our employees want us to highlight healthy lifestyles, perhaps by launching a ‘step challenge’ or hosting a 5K. While I love these ideas, we have some employees who use wheelchairs. For example, I struggle with organizing a step challenge because I feel this is not inclusive to everyone. Am I overthinking this? Or do you have suggestions that meet the ask but are inclusive to everyone?” I immediately contacted my friend, workplace wellness expert Laura Putnam. She recommended thinking about the various dimensions of wellness when designing programs. These include physical, emotional, social, financial, career, and community needs. By offering options in these categories, you’ll be more inclusive by design. With her guidance, I then researched possible activities. Here are some ideas: - Physical: Organize a “workout streak,” asking employees to record the number of days in a row they’ve done some workout—cardio, yoga, weights, stretching, or anything they define as a workout. Or arrange “stroll & roll” groups for breaks, ensuring paths are wheelchair-accessible. - Emotional: Designate an “Unplug at lunch” day, committing not to use your phone or devices and enjoying silence or talking with coworkers. - Social: Create a “Get to Know Each Other” week, with prompts to encourage coworkers to find personal connections. - Financial: Provide financial planning or budgeting classes. - Career: Host sessions to demystify the promotion process or other career-related topics. - Community: Organize a donation drive for items that a local non-profit needs. Then, once you have some options, let people design their wellness goals and choose activities that make sense for them. P.S. A few months ago, I embarked on a small, personal experiment with a group of friends. As someone who's been committed to regular exercise for most of my life, recent events prompted me to reassess the effectiveness and direction of my efforts. Firstly, my grandfather received a dual diagnosis of bone cancer and dementia. Secondly, my father suffered a stroke. Thirdly, I discovered the concept of VO2 max, which led to the realization that my cardiovascular fitness was subpar despite years of training. These developments led to the following question: What proactive steps could I take today to boost my efforts and potentially prevent the health issues my family was encountering? One strategy that has consistently proven effective in my life is public accountability. Often, when I aim to achieve a goal, I openly share it with as many people as possible. Subsequently, whenever we meet, they inquire about my progress. This approach makes abandoning projects much more challenging when motivation fades away. Motivated by these reflections, I initiated a small group comprising individuals committed to leading healthier lives. We welcome anyone interested in preventive health, bio-hacking, or simply becoming more active. The group's purpose was to function as both a knowledge hub and an accountability circle. Four months into this journey, I've gained so many insights into the science of exercise, nutrition, sleep, and various other health-related topics. This learning experience was enriched by the opportunity to meet and exchange ideas with many great people in Singapore and abroad! Today, I wanted to share some of the most impactful lessons I've learned thus far. At CEG Agency, we’re always looking for fresh and innovative ways to approach influencer marketing, and one of our recent campaigns stands out as a perfect example of how the right mix of creative content, influencer partnerships, and educational calls-to-action (CTAs) can drive impressive results. In this case study, we’ll take you through how we launched a new health & wellness product and turned it into a conversion-driven campaign with a 5.7 ROAS. Our client was promoting a health and wellness supplement designed to enhance both physical and mental well-being. The challenge? Breaking through the noise in a crowded market. The product had significant potential, but we needed a creative way to introduce it, generate buzz, and drive conversions—without getting lost in the sea of similar products. For this campaign, we didn’t want to go down the traditional “product review” route. We created a concept where influencers would kick off a “30-day wellness challenge” featuring the product as part of their daily routine. This wasn’t just about showcasing the product—it was about making the product part of an engaging, trend-driven experience. The influencers encouraged their followers to join them in the challenge, where they would document their progress and share their personal results on Instagram and TikTok using a unique campaign hashtag. This user-generated content not only boosted engagement but also made the product feel like part of a community-driven movement. The challenge format played into the growing trend of fitness challenges and lifestyle improvements. The idea was simple: influencers would show how easy it was to incorporate the product into their daily routine and invite their audience to do the same. It was trendy, it was shareable, and it made the product feel like a must-have for people wanting to optimize their health. We knew that simply promoting a trendy wellness challenge wouldn’t be enough to drive long-term conversions. So, we designed CTAs that went beyond the typical “buy now” request and incorporated an educational component. Instead of just telling followers to purchase the product, we encouraged them to learn more about its benefits. The CTAs invited followers to access an exclusive “Wellness Guide” or a free “Wellness Webinar” hosted by the influencer, where they could dive deeper into the science behind the product.
