From UNICEF global supply hubs across the world, we deliver life-saving supplies #ForEveryChild

Om os

In 2024, UNICEF sourced, procured and delivered over $5.610 billion in supplies and services that are crucial in fulfilling child rights. The UNICEF global supply hubs in Copenhagen and across the world procures affordable life-saving supplies and services available in the right quantity and of the right quality, wherever children are in need. Supporting UNICEF’s ongoing programmatic activities, the hubs also provides rapid supply response to emergencies. Strategies to achieve results for children focus on influencing global markets for supplies, product innovation and supply chain strengthening. Cross-cutting strategies in monitoring, evaluation, partnerships with health and development organizations, governments and the private sector, and establishing learning opportunities for staff are also critical areas that enable Supply Division’s work.

  • “A child dies from malaria every minute, a devastating death toll of nearly half a million young lives claimed each year,” said Leila Pakkala, Director of UNICEF Supply.    Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance and UNICEF have announced a new agreement that will make malaria vaccines significantly more accessible and affordable. The deal, backed by Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance and executed by UNICEF, is expected to generate up to US$ 90 million in savings for Gavi and countries, equivalent to more than 30 million additional doses, enabling the full vaccination of nearly 7 million more children against malaria over the next five years. …………………………………………………..................... The Union of the Comoros takes a historic step: the #HPV vaccination campaign is officially launched today! 👉 Objective: to protect adolescent girls and contribute to eliminating cervical cancer by 2030. “Today, the Union of the Comoros is making a strong choice: to protect our girls, protect our families, protect the future (…) in line with our national vaccination strategy, we are joining WHO’s global strategy to eliminate cervical cancer (…)” – Ahamadi Sidi Nahouda, Minister of Health. Mustapha Ben Messaoud, UNICEF Comores Representative, emphasized: The #HPV vaccine is safe, effective, and has been used in more than 140 countries for 15 years. “No rumor, no social media message can replace facts. Facts are public health data; they are the countries that have successfully introduced it; they are the women who, today, are protected,” he stressed. This initiative, led by the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Education with support from UNICEF, #WHO, and Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance, aims to protect all girls aged 9 to 14, both in schools and health centers. 🤝 Together, let’s inform, reassure, and act to give every girl essential protection for her future! • Last week, the 2025 Inter-regional Vaccine Procurement Forum (VPF) brought together 19 countries for strategic peer-to-peer learning.    Co-hosted by UNICEF Supply, UNICEF Middle East and North Africa and UNICEF Egypt, the forum explored how locally and regionally produced immunization supplies can best be integrated into national procurement strategies.   These discussions reinforced the importance of evidence-based approaches tailored to each country’s context, so every child has uninterrupted access to vaccines.   #ForEveryChild, access to vaccines

Today, we join the global community in supporting children everywhere and reaffirming our commitment to supporting UNICEF with rapid emergency response and stronger global supply chains. At DSV, we are proud to partner with UNICEF to make a tangible difference in the lives of children across the world. Through our global network, we’ve helped deliver critical supplies to children in crisis situations – from emergency medical kits in Lebanon to clean water solutions in Myanmar and essential medicines and nutrition supplements in Honduras. By providing in-kind flights and strengthening humanitarian supply chains, we ensure that critical supplies can reach even the most remote locations within the first 72 hours of an emergency. Michael Ebbe, Group CFO of DSV, shares: “The world faces continued challenges that require effective solutions and support. This is why we have chosen to partner with UNICEF to provide efficient humanitarian logistics for crisis-affected areas. Our strategic partnership consists of different initiatives, and one of the cornerstones is our pre-established in-kind flight agreement, which enables the delivery of critical supplies to the children that need it the most.” On this World Children’s Day, we celebrate the power of collaboration and the impact we can achieve together. Every child deserves a safe, healthy and happy future, and we are proud to support UNICEF’s work towards this goal. UNICEF Supply

  • When emergencies disrupt access to health care, fast and reliable solutions are essential. The Interagency Emergency Health Kit (IEHK) is one such solution, designed to meet the priority health needs of populations affected by crises.    The IEHK contains medicines, medical devices and equipment to serve a population of 10,000 people for three months.      The latest information note provides an update on the IEHK 2024 packed by UNICEF. It includes key updates to the kit, and offers insights into demand and supply, packaging, labelling, pricing and order considerations.   This information note is intended for those involved in emergency health operations, from UN agencies and humanitarian organizations coordinating response efforts, to government health authorities managing preparedness and distribution. It also supports procurement and supply chain managers overseeing kit deployment, donor agencies considering funding and field responders using the kits in real-time settings.   The information note is now available. 👇   🔗 https://lnkd.in/eVcKq8sV

  • Disruptions in global supply chains can delay the delivery of essential health supplies like safe injection equipment. When immunization and outbreak response are held back, children’s health and lives are at risk.    UNICEF has concluded a major global tender to secure a two-year supply of auto-disable syringes, reconstitution syringes and safety boxes, supporting immunization efforts in over 90 countries from 2026 to 2027. Starting in 2026, 52% of UNICEF-procured syringes will be produced by manufacturers in Kenya, Nigeria and Rwanda, up from less than 10% in 2023. In collaboration with the Gates Foundation, PATH and other partners, UNICEF is advancing its localization efforts with the goal of procuring 60% of safe injection equipment from African manufacturers by 2029.      By procuring safe injection equipment closer to where it’s needed, UNICEF strengthens local manufacturing capacity and diversifies the supplier base, while reducing the risk of disruptions, delivery times, and carbon footprint.      Learn more about safe injection equipment and localization here:  Safe injection equipment: https://lnkd.in/dfjDA7YU Safe injection equipment prices: https://lnkd.in/dvhdjF94 Localization: https://lnkd.in/d--CkFzv
