When I first heard CBSE was recommending “sugar boards” in schools, I thought—finally, a step in the right direction! But as a parent (and as someone building Gladful), I also couldn’t help but think… this can’t be it, right? Real change won’t come from a poster. So, if we’re dreaming big (and we should), here is a collation of some good case practices that schools can follow. None of these ideas are mine, they’re inspired by amazing things that many schools across India are already doing, in bits and pieces. We just need CBSE to connect the dots—and turn these scattered efforts into a strong, unified movement: 1. Start with the school canteen. Most items are full of sugar, refined flour, and fried everything. If there’s a ₹10 cream roll that’s super sweet, soft, and somehow still profitable, it's definitely not right for our kids to buy when we aren't around). Our kids deserve better options than a packet of chips or aerated drinks. 2.Teach food like we teach fractions. We teach kids to calculate calories in math, but rarely explain what those calories actually do to their bodies. Let’s build nutrition into the curriculum—make it part of science, health, and life skills. 3. Make kids make their own health report card. Ask them to track their own growth in cms, kgs, how many days they stayed home sick, or how energetic they feel. It builds self-awareness—and ownership. 4. Fruit or salad, every day at 11. Just imagine—every school, every kid, taking a break mid-morning to eat something fresh and real. It’s a reset button for the whole day. 5. Tiffin checks (yes, the fun kind). Till Class 5, teachers could simply ask: “Whose tiffin is empty?” Kids love raising their hands. It’s a small thing that makes a big impact. 6. Tiffin themes: Kids already compare lunchboxes. Schools can steer that energy into something playful—like Idli Mondays, Pulao Wednesdays, or Paratha Fridays. Shared menus = less pressure on parents, and more excitement for kids. 7. Parents want help, not judgment. A simple meal calendar or weekly idea list from school can make mornings easier at home. We’re all in this together. Local, seasonal, and proudly desi. 8.Let kids lead: Set up student food councils to plan menus, organize fruit days, and share feedback. When they’re involved, they care more—and complain less. Sugar boards were a good first step, hope it won't be the only one. Bollywood, Influencers and LinkedIn have glorified entrepreneurship. But the fact remains that building a company in India isn’t a sprint, it’s a sweaty and messy marathon. The many challenges of initial survival, scaling, and eventual maturity take time. But when I look back, I realize that pushing through those early years paid off in ways I couldn’t have imagined. Companies like Zerodha or Atomberg Technologies have shown us that persistence, learning, and growth lead to success. The road wasn’t quick, but the results were worth it. “Victory belongs to the most tenacious. This line, inscribed on the Philippe Chatrier court at Roland Garros, resonates deeply with me because building a business is all about tenacity. While everyone’s story is different, in general I believe it takes about 8 years to build a decent-sized company in India unless you're making a huge capital investment upfront or happen to be a complete outlier. The journey generally unfolds like this: 1/ First 2 years are your tuition fees where you’re learning your business, industry, gaps, and fighting for survival. 2/ Next 3 years you find some traction, develop processes, and earn customer trust. 3/ And the next 3-4 years you scale, build a strong team, set targets, sharpen strategy, and become relevant. This has been my journey too, and I’ve seen it repeat for many founders. The road isn’t easy, but persistence pays off. Founders & celebrities spend Crores on Podcasts - but the audience still end up HATING them bcs they do it all wrong! They lose money, and don't get the right ROI from their campaigns. How? Because they treat podcasts like billboard campaigns. Just show up everywhere, all at once. They go live on 5 podcasts in 2 weeks. Say the EXACT same lines everywhere. Chase viewership instead of real connection. And then wonder why the needle didn’t move. But here’s the truth: People listen to podcasts to genuinely connect with someone & hear their raw version. And the moment they sense it’s just a PR sales run... they DISCONNECT. Worse, they stop trusting you altogether. Because any salesman is good ONLY until his sales process isn't exposed to the customers. So how do you plan your podcasts campaign right & leverage maximum ROI possible? → First, define what you want to be known for. A sharp narrative that becomes your throughline. For example: “Founder of a 100 crore skincare brand” “Built a 10,000-customer SaaS without funding” That becomes your clickbait value. Your packaging. Your thumbnail. Your reel cover. Your headline. → Don’t spam the audience. 2 podcasts a month are more than enough... if you’re doing them right. Also, don't go to every podcast out there just because of numbers. Choose your associations wisely. → Make sure every host takes a different angle. (Atleast 50% unique content with each podcast) If every episode sounds the same, people zone out. And lastly... understand this: Attention is easy. Quality attention isn’t. If what you say doesn’t feel real, That attention flips. Into apathy. Or worse… ridicule. Play for trust. Not just views. That’s the only way it compounds.

As a marketing student, I often study how brands scale. But sometimes, the most inspiring case studies don’t come from boardrooms they come from farms... 🌱 At 28, Anushka Jaiswal from Lucknow is rewriting what success in farming looks like. An economics graduate from Hindu College, Delhi, she was once expected to take up a cushy corporate job. But instead, she chose soil over skyscrapers. Starting with just a terrace garden, Anushka took training in horticulture and protected farming. In 2020, she set up her first polyhouse on one acre of land. Her first crop of cucumbers yielded 3x more than traditional methods. Today, she runs a 6-acre polyhouse farm, growing exotic vegetables like bell peppers, kale, zucchini, lettuce, parsley, and bok choy. 📊 Her produce now reaches customers through Blinkit, Big Basket, Lulu Hypermarket, and other retailers. 💰 Last year, her farm recorded a turnover of nearly ₹1 crore. 👩‍🌾 She employs 25-30 people, mostly women, creating livelihoods and empowering communities. Despite skepticism around her age and gender, she proved that modern farming can be both profitable and sustainable. Her focus? Eco-friendly practices, soil health, and protected cultivation as the future of farming.
