• UNFCCC negotiations, Paris Agreement — NDCs, long term strategies, Article 6 (carbon markets), Technology Mechanism (CTCN, TEC), Financial Mechanism (mostly Green Climate Fund).
• IPCC — Expert Reviewer of the Working Group III contribution to the 6th Assessment Report.

• Worked closely with the European Commission, European Parliament, Permanent Representations of the EU Member States. Collaborated with a wide range of stakeholders on climate, energy and industrial policy.
• Topics: the European Green Deal and its initiatives, including the Climate Law, 2030 Climate Target Plan, the EU Emissions Trading System, Effort Sharing Regulation, industrial strategy, smart sector integration strategy, TEN-E regulation, Circular Economy Action plan (especially certification for carbon removals), the role of clean hydrogen in decarbonisation, the Next Generation EU recovery instrument in the EU budget.

During Estonian Presidency of the Council of the EU (2nd half of 2017):
• Negotiated on behalf of the EU Member States with the European Parliament and the Commission.
• Led the negotiations between the Council, Parliament and the Commission on the aviation sector under the EU Emission Trading System (EU ETS) and on the Waste Package/Circular Economy (changing six directives and establishing new recycling targets for the EU), taking both files to successful agreements.

During Estonian Presidency of the Council of the EU (2nd half of 2017):
• Negotiated on behalf of the EU Member States with the European Parliament and the Commission.
• Led the negotiations between the Council, Parliament and the Commission on the aviation sector under the EU Emission Trading System (EU ETS) and on the Waste Package/Circular Economy (changing six directives and establishing new recycling targets for the EU), taking both files to successful agreements.
• Chaired Working Party on the Environment meetings where the Member States establish their joint position for these negotiations.
• Managed two teams of experts.

Outside the Presidency months, developed EU policy on Climate Change, Sustainability and Environment.
• Negotiated on Sustainable Finance, Circular Economy, CO2 standards for cars and heavy-duty vehicles.
• Followed the development of the EU Long Term Climate Strategy.

• the aviation sector under the EU Emission Trading System (EU ETS),
• the Waste Package/Circular Economy (changing six directives and establishing new recycling targets for the EU).

• Wrote Estonia's National Allocation Plan for 2008–2012 for the EU ETS (+ participated in the case of European Court of Justice C-505/09 P European Commission vs Estonia).

• Drafted publications on environmental statistics.
• Led a project “Indicators of Sustainable Development” — an online tool visualizing sustainability performance on the regional (within Estonia) and national (Estonia vs the EU Member States) level.

I mapped Estonia's potential for selling carbon credits from the Kyoto Protocol's Joint Implementation projects while writing a Bachelor's Thesis on the same topic.
