We’re celebrating 25 years of #BarclaysMakeaDifference, our global volunteering campaign that brings together colleagues around the world to help communities to progress. Thousands of Barclays colleagues helped young people to build their financial confidence, shared career insights and interview tips with those just starting out, took part in ideation sessions with social businesses, and supported charities in their local communities.

Mission accomplished ✅ In 2019, we partnered with the FA to transform girls’ football in England, setting a goal for 90% of schools to offer girls the same access to football in PE as boys by 2028. We’ve smashed that goal three years early. ✅ Over 20,000 schools (90%) now offer equal access to football in PE ✅ 2.6 million girls now have the opportunity to play   Football is more than just a game. It creates the foundations for resilience, confidence and leadership skills. That's why we’re championing equal access through the Barclays Girls’ Football in Schools network, to help girls unlock their potential both on the field and in life.

We were proud to welcome the Chelsea Pensioners to our head office, who joined our colleagues in support of the Royal British Legion’s Poppy Appeal. This Remembrance Day, we honour the commitment and bravery of the Armed Forces community, past and present. As we mark the 80th anniversary of the end of the Second World War, we give special thanks for the courage and sacrifice of all who served. #LestWeForget

Yesterday, I joined Manorfield school for an inspiring assembly for National Numeracy’s Number Confidence Week – and it was one of the most fun and memorable mornings I’ve had at Barclays. 🧒 Children’s TV presenter Maddie Moate brought incredible energy, hosting a gameshow all about numbers and money for children in the room, plus thousands of children tuning in nationwide. I was thrilled to compete as a contestant, going head-to-head with financial educator Rotimi Merriman-Johnson DipFA. ⚽ For the football fans, England and Barclays WSL icon Lucy Bronze sent a special video message to share how her love of numbers helps her make smart decisions on the pitch and with her finances.   👏 Thank you to Maddie, Rotimi and Lucy for joining us, and to National Numeracy and Manorfield School for a brilliant morning! Building confidence with numbers and money is vital for empowering children to make sound financial choices later in life. The Government’s decision this week to renew focus on financial education in the curriculum is a welcome and important step towards building a financially confident nation, and banks like Barclays will continue to play our part.   Find out more about why Britain needs a numeracy wake up call to unlock growth in a piece I wrote for This is Money 👇
