When critical generators at a major Southern California sanitation facility reached the end of their expected 30-year life, IDEAL Electric stepped in to rewind the rotors—adding decades of reliable power generation. Each rotor was transported to IDEAL’s Ohio Works, where our team restored it precisely to OEM specifications. From removal and transportation to rewinding and reinstallation, we handled every step, typically turning around each rotor in about three months. IDEAL Electric is shipping another U.S.-built synchronous condenser abroad—this one to Japan, complete with custom switchgear. Projects like this show why synchronous condensers are in demand worldwide: they stabilize voltage, improve power factor, and make critical facilities more resilient. But equipment alone isn’t enough. A quarter of this order is service. IDEAL field engineers will be on site for months, guiding removal of legacy equipment, overseeing installation of the new system, and commissioning it into service.
