Today we marked an exciting milestone — the topping out ceremony for the Dever Family Foundation Skilled Trades Education Center! The last beam was signed by all, raised and secured into place symbolizing the strength of community partnerships, the dedication of countless supporters, and a bright future for the next generation of skilled workers. Soon, this center will open its doors to Scouts and students eager to explore hands-on careers in the trades — building skills, confidence, and opportunity. We truly enjoyed hosting this group of ambitious students! We look forward to seeing them continue to grow as leaders within our community👏
We recently had the opportunity to take students from the Leo H. Gerbus ’53 Center for Entrepreneurship & Innovation at St. Xavier High School to visit Jurgensen Companies, a Cincinnati based leader in aggregates, asphalt, construction, and terminals. Jim Jurgensen II, CEO, and his incredible team shared valuable insights into the construction industry, touching on leadership, project management, estimating, business strategy, sustainability, and innovation. They also emphasized the importance of lifelong learning, employee retention, brand identity, and understanding costs and revenues, all while underscoring the power of building lasting relationships. A special thanks to Jim Jurgensen, Chris Simpson (Director of HR and Talent), Anthony F. Ricciardi MSW (Community Outreach Manager), Bry Lagreca (Recruiting Specialist), Chris Kunz (VP for Heavy Equipment Field Operations) and Trey Wolterman (Survey Machine Control Manager) for their hospitality and for creating such a meaningful experience for our students. Visits like this remind us how important it is to build relationships with top business partners across the Greater Cincinnati region. The kind of connections that strengthen our community and inspire the next generation of innovators and leaders. #Entrepreneurship #Innovation #Leadership #StXavier #LongBlueLine #JurgensenCompany #CincinnatiBusiness
