The Voice for Union Construction & Maintenance

About us

The Association of Union Constructors (TAUC) is the only multi-trade, all-union contractor association in the United States. Membership is comprised of more than 2,000 construction firms that utilize union labor for their construction and maintenance projects, as well as local contractor associations, vendors and service providers in the industrial maintenance and construction sector. Founded in 1969 as the National Erectors Association (NEA), the organization initially served as the voice for union steel erector companies. Over the years, however, union contractors from other business sectors began to gravitate toward the NEA due to its success in forging productive relationships between labor and management. The tent grew larger, and in 2007, we officially changed our name to TAUC, a national organization that represents all union construction and maintenance contractors regardless of specialty.

  • Thanksgiving Safety Tips (Because no one wants an ER visit before dessert) As we head into the holiday, here are ten practical — and a little humorous — safety reminders to keep your Thanksgiving injury-free: Deep-Fried Turkey Safety: Thaw fully, lower slowly, keep kids/pets clear. Carving = Lockout/Tag out: Stabilize surfaces and carve with intention. Backyard Football: Warm up to avoid early-game injuries. Slips & Trips: Kitchen floors get slick fast; wear proper footwear and clean spills quickly. Alcohol + Power Tools: Save ladder and light-hanging work for before the drinks. Kids in the Kitchen: Establish safe zones for little helpers. Food Safety: Refrigerate leftovers within 2 hours and reheat properly. Travel Smart: Treat holiday roads like a work zone — plan, focus, stay alert. Lift Safely: Even the turkey requires good lifting form. Rest & Recover: A rested team is a safe team — on the jobsite and at home. Wishing everyone a safe, healthy, and happy Thanksgiving. 🦃🍁

  • Congratulations to Walbridge on an extraordinary achievement. Earning 2024 Supplier of the Year honors from Ford, General Motors, and Stellantis in the same year is a rare distinction — and Walbridge stands alone as the only construction company recognized by all three automakers. These awards reflect Walbridge’s deep commitment to operational excellence, safety, innovation, and strong labor-management partnerships across North America. From Ford’s recognition for community impact, to GM’s dual Supplier of the Year and Overdrive Awards, to Stellantis’ Best Supplier Award in the North America category, the message is clear: Walbridge sets an exceptional standard. TAUC congratulates the entire Walbridge team on this milestone and celebrates the long-standing collaboration between union contractors, skilled craftworkers, and industry partners that makes achievements like this possible.

  • At TAUC’s 2025 Safety & Health Conference, keynote speaker Rodney Grieve challenged attendees to rethink how safety leadership really workson the job site. In his session, “Why Frontline Leaders Fail to Deliver Safety Results Through Others (And What We Must Do to Help Them),” Rodney explored what’s holding back well-intentioned leaders—and how contractors and unions can better equip them to create lasting safety cultures. #SafetyLeadership #UnionConstruction #TAUCSafetyConference #ZeroInjury
