inductors application in Flyback switching power supply The selection of the topology structure for 20W - 2000W power supplies · 20W - 100W: Common flyback and step-down topologies, with a simple structure, suitable for low-power applications. 100W - 500W: The boost, half-bridge, push-pull and other topologies are suitable for medium-power applications and can transmit electrical energy with high efficiency. 500W - 1000W: Full bridge, LLC resonant topology is the mainstream choice, suitable for high-efficiency, isolated power supply applications. 1000W - 2000W: The phase-shifted full-bridge and full-bridge resonant topologies perform exceptionally well under high-power and high-efficiency requirements, and are suitable for applications such as data center power supplies and electric vehicle charging. Topology selection needs to take into account power levels, efficiency requirements, cost, as well as voltage and current demands in the application scenarios. https://www.boloniy.com

The biggest roadblock for fleet electrification isn't the vehicles, it's the utility connection. The long waits and high costs for grid upgrades are killing projects. A new pilot in New York is testing a way around this, using smart charging to manage load and avoid new infrastructure. This moves the focus from expensive hardware to intelligent software. Modeling and Feasibility studies are a key first step. Are we stressing about building more poles and wires instead of using the grid we already have more wisely? #EVCharging, #FleetElectrification, #GridModernization, #SmartCharging, #Utilities Source Article: https://lnkd.in/gAAnJm4p

#ActiveFrontendDrive #Advantages An active front end (AFE) VFD is a type of variable frequency drive that uses a controlled rectifier with IGBTs to provide bidirectional power flow, low harmonic distortion, and a near-unity power factor. It actively shapes the current waveform and uses a filter to maintain high power quality, unlike traditional VFDs with passive diode rectifiers that create more harmonics. This makes AFE drives suitable for regenerative loads and applications with strict power quality requirements, offering advantages like improved energy efficiency and grid interaction. How it works:- · An AFE uses a microprocessor-controlled IGBT-based rectifier instead of a simple diode rectifier. · This allows it to function as a controllable rectifier, actively converting AC to DC power. · It actively shapes the current waveform, which reduces harmonic distortion to very low levels (e.g., <5% Total Harmonic Distortion). · It can also reverse the power flow, allowing energy to be sent back to the grid (regenerative). · An inductor-capacitor-inductor (LCL) filter is often included to further dampen any remaining high-frequency harmonics. Key advantages:- · Low harmonic distortion: Minimizes the creation of harmful harmonics on the power grid. · Bidirectional power flow: Allows for regenerative braking, where energy is fed back to the source instead of being dissipated as heat. · High power factor: Maintains a power factor of nearly 1, regardless of motor load or speed. · Improved grid interaction: Can compensate for unbalanced lines and support voltage sags by drawing additional current to keep the DC bus charged. · Simplified installation: Can sometimes eliminate the need for external filters, transformers, or other costly harmonic mitigation equipment. .

New on the EES blog 👇 𝗔 𝘀𝗼𝗹𝗮𝗿-𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗩𝗙𝗗 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗲 𝘄𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗽𝘂𝗺𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗴 Runs standard three-phase pumps straight from PV. No grid. No batteries. Why this matters: remote sites need flow without miles of wire or fuel trucks. So we built the drive around sunlight, not the wall outlet. 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁’𝘀 𝗱𝗶𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁 ☀️ Direct PV input with real-time MPPT, treated as a live power budget. 🔧 Power-aware motor control, adjusts frequency and torque as irradiance swings. 🌅 First-light startup that avoids brownouts at dawn. 🧰 Field-friendly LCD, keys, and simple I/O for valves and float switches. If you work where weather sets the limits, this control approach keeps the pump moving water instead of tripping. Getting 20% more power from PV assets is now a possibility without new mechanical hardware. 🧠 This research shows how intelligent controllers are replacing physical complexity to boost asset performance and ROI. A new fuzzy logic controller (FLC) simultaneously optimizes panel tilt angle and MPPT in real time. Year-long simulations demonstrated a power generation increase of up to 20% compared to traditional fixed-angle systems. The adaptive system proved especially effective in non-ideal, partly cloudy conditions, hitting an average MPPT tracking efficiency of 89.25%. ☀️ I'll place the breakdown of optimal monthly tilt angles from the study in the first comment. How would a system that adapts this quickly perform in your region's specific weather patterns? #PVOandM #SolarInnovation #MPPT #AssetOptimization #FuzzyLogic #DigitalTwin
