  • At the US Privacy Summit last month, privacy leaders showed up – and the conversations didn’t disappoint. 🙌 Watch below to feel the energy, candor, and clarity that defined the day. This wasn’t a parade of sales pitches. It was a front-row seat to how the regulators and practitioners are tackling modern privacy challenges in the U.S. 🔍 We unpacked: • Accountability in advertising • What real opt-out compliance looks like • Unfiltered conversations with top CA regulators • How privacy and marketing teams can thrive together • Dark patterns and privacy UX To our speakers: thank you for showing up with honesty and expertise. To our attendees: thank you for being part of a growing movement to make privacy discussions collaborative, transparent, and grounded in practical advice. And of course, thank you to our incredible co-hosts Women in Security and Privacy (WISP) and Kelley Drye & Warren LLP. This Thanksgiving week, we’re especially grateful for this community. 💜 For the people who want to do privacy right. And for the momentum we’re building together. Watch the highlights below ⬇️

  • Identity is the backbone of privacy that nobody talks about nearly enough. Well, except for Maxwell Anderson. He's obsessed. Without identity, privacy compliance isn't actually possible. Two major reasons privacy leaders need to care about identity: 1️⃣ Cross-device reality: When someone opts out on their phone, that choice should apply on their laptop too. The California AG made this crystal clear in their sweep targeting streaming services. You simply cannot honor opt-outs across devices and platforms without identity management. 2️⃣ The orchestration gap: Everyone obsesses over cookie blocking, which is adorable but incomplete. What about the data you've ALREADY collected? If someone opts out, how do you: - Remove them from Facebook custom audiences? - Pull them from your email marketing segments? - Ensure they're excluded from your lookalike models? You can't use a first-party cookie to talk to Facebook. You need hashed emails, IDFAs, and other identifiers. You need an identity graph that knows which ID to use with which system. Cookie consent tools can't magically transform into identity-rich platforms. That architecture needs to be baked in from the start. It is at Ketch. The harsh truth: If you can masterfully track users across platforms to sell them products, but claim it's too hard to apply that same expertise to honor privacy choices...regulators will eventually call your bluff. Does your current privacy software contemplate identity? We suggest you find out. More from Max ⬇️

  • It's time for our quarterly cocktails hang, and the holiday edition is our favorite. Who wants to join? ☃️ On December 17th, our favorite expert mixologist is on deck to mix up some festive drinks for the Ketch community. Cranberry Old Fashioned? Peppermint Martini? Um.... yes please. Between sips, we're hosting a candid, ask anything roundtable with Alysa Hutnik and Maxwell Anderson on 2025 privacy highlights, 2026 predictions, and everything in between. Want to join? DM us to request an invite! Registration will close on December 3rd so we have time to ship a cocktail kit right to your front door 👏 Mocktail options available too. This event is intended for Ketch customers, partners, and prospects 👋

  • If your privacy consent "strategy" is slapping a banner up on your website and calling it a day, it's not enough to comply with modern regulations. (Not to mention real respect for people's data preferences.) In his new article for TechRadar Pro, Maxwell Anderson explains why consent isn’t a one‑and‑done item. It’s a living commitment. The stark truth: regulators aren’t satisfied by policies or marketing statements. They want proof of actual data flows, actual opt‑outs and actual accountability. At Ketch, we don't pretend privacy is a checkbox. We help brands treat it like the continuous data discipline and data control problem it is. Article link in the comments. ⬇️

  • We're excited to share that Ketch has been named a Leader in the 2025 IDC MarketScape for Worldwide Data Privacy Compliance Software. 👊 From Major Player in 2023 to Leader in 2025, we're on a rocket 🚀 Why do brands continue to migrate to Ketch? The top five reasons: 1) Ease of use. From drag-and-drop rights workflows to WYSIWYG banner designs with 400+ customization options, customers rave about our intuitive interface that makes privacy management easy for non-technical stakeholders. 2) Identity synchronization. Our founders are data management and adtech veterans. No one in privacy understands identity like Ketch. Need to connect consent across devices? Stitch identifiers together to respect consumers however they interact with your brand? You're in the right place. 3) Orchestration and integrations. Ketch is the ONLY privacy management software with click-based (not code!), configurable integrations to easily send consent, rights, and marketing choices to your systems and apps. 4) Auditability. We challenge you (seriously) to find a privacy platform with better reporting than Ketch. From regional consent rates, to granular audit logs of every user interaction, to exportable data for your BI tools – our customers rave about reporting. Let us show you a demo to see for yourself. 5) Good people and great customer service. At the end of the day, we're all human. Life is better when you work with good people. We're immensely proud of building a driven, capable, kind team that works hand in hand with customers every day to solve tricky privacy challenges with great software. Maxwell Anderson and Colleen Barry of Ketch brought a fresh lens to the relationship between privacy and marketing—one often defined by tension rather than partnership. The discussion examined how early alignment can mitigate compliance exposure, strengthen governance, and create shared accountability around consumer trust. Topics ranged from oversight of cookies and trackers to designing preference centers that give users genuine control. The takeaway: when privacy engages marketing proactively, both teams operate with greater clarity and impact.

  • Last week was one for the books at Ketch. Our full crew came together at San Francisco HQ for a week of collaboration and celebration of a great Q3 👏 Highlights included... ➡️ Recapping a whirlwind October: from the U.S. Privacy Summit to IAB and IAPP in San Diego, this fall has been nonstop. What a joy to take a breather with the team to celebrate progess and plan for the next. ➡️ Hearing from our product team re: what's coming up in the roadmap. From marketing preference upgrades to new AI enabling functionality everywhere, we're SO excited about what's coming for our customers. ➡️ Ending the week with a perfect rooftop hang including fire dancing and tarot card reading. She predicted an even better Q4 😉 Cheers to the next one!

A Practical Voice in Data Privacy & Cybersecurity

Another year, another fantastic "evening before PSR" All California Privacy Happy Hour! It was SO great to be back in beautiful San Diego and see SO many familiar faces. Special thank you to the sponsors that made this event possible - Ketch, Fisher Phillips, our very own Privageo, and Alvaka - 24x7 IT Support & Ransomware Recovery! And a special, special thank you to the IAPP KnowledgeNet chapters for their partnership each year to make this event a success! This event would not have been possible without San Diego chapter and the handful of volunteers who ran check-in all night including Gaurav D. ,Katie Albright, Edgar Vargas, Aaron Hirsch, Ellen C. Ntiwunka, Miia Hytönen and my partner in crime for 3 years now, Salma Debar,! I really could not have done it without you all! Onto next year!
