We are excited to launch the Enabling Quality Interactions between Providers and Patients through Education Delivery (EQUIPPED) Initiative on December 11th! The EQUIPPED Initiative is a global program that supports hospitals and cancer organizations—especially in low- and middle-income countries—to provide effective cancer education for newly diagnosed patients and their caregivers. Using a collection of educational materials developed by the ACS in multiple languages, the initiative promotes education that is people-centered, scientifically accurate, and culturally appropriate. Its goal is to help patients and caregivers better understand cancer and make informed decisions about treatment. During the launch event, find out: • What the EQUIPPED Initiative is • What EQUIPPED Resources are available • How the resources can support cancer education activities • How health institutions and cancer organizations can access the resources Join the online launch event on December 11th at 13:00pm UTC by registering here: https://lnkd.in/e2fqyej3

Food, family, and storytelling are at the heart of Black culture, yet studies show one topic often gets left off the table: cancer. Actor, culinary creator, and cancer community advocate Tia Mowry is partnering with Pfizer and the American Cancer Society for a video series called “Rewrite the Recipe.” The series aims to help address cancer disparities in Black communities and inspire conversations about family cancer history at dinner tables across the country. In each episode, Tia joins guests impacted by cancer as they gather in the kitchen to cook, connect, and share their journeys. This series was developed by Pfizer and the ACS as part of “Change the Odds: Uniting to Improve Cancer Outcomes,” an initiative focused on addressing disparities in cancer care. Learn how the initiative is helping close gaps related to cancer screening and care in underserved communities here: https://lnkd.in/eVNZDfvU
